Commission 5

It took me longer than I expected for various reasons, but I finally finished my last big commission! This was fun to work on, because it was a request to drawing a couple of characters from my all time favorite video game, Star Ocean the Second Story! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!

A new year!

A new year!

The end of 2020 was pretty crazy for me, so I didn’t get to update like I had hoped. December also came with the issue of my drawing tablet dying, so that set me back on some projects as well. But it’s a new year and I have a new tablet, so I hope to get some more work done. In the meantime I’m going to share some work I did in the last few months of 2020!

To start things off, here’s the Christmas illustration that I made for my holiday cards!

Commission 4

Finished this one last week. It’s a commission/birthday gift for my friend Wolf! She really loves Raphael from the 2012 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and she asked for a campfire bonding scene with him and his bro Michelangelo. I guess Raph is kind of an animal whisperer, so he’s surrounded by woodland creatures and his pets Chompy and Spike. Meanwhile Mikey has his pet Ice Cream Kitty to share in the marshmallow roasting activities. She’s pretty cute I think. It was a nice scene to draw!

Commission 3

Commission 3

Finished this one a while back and forgot to post it! It’s Thomas from Zoids Chaotic Century who was requested by my friend Aimee. Zoids has been a favorite franchise of mine for a long time, so I was really excited to get this request!

Many thanks to Sammich for helping me out with the background on this one!

Commission 2

Commission 2

My second large commission for this year! This was also requested by Eric of Toy Saurus. It’s a cover for the Princess Sally hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog 3/Sonic & Knuckles games for the Sega Genesis. I was really excited to take this one on as Sally was a favorite character of mine when I was a kid, and it had always been a dream of my teenage self to do a cool Sonic project like this! The illustration references the original Sonic 3 cover’s background, but I redrew everything.

As a bonus, I also did a quick illustration to go with the Sally hack for the first Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Genesis!

My roommate Sammich helped me do some shinier lighting on this one. It turned out really nice.

Some Commission Work

Some Commission Work

Whoops, I meant to upload with this last month, but got a little busy. I was able to finish some big commissions this past month, so I’ll share those as I have time to post them.

First big commission I got was the Janine from Ghostbusters that I did for my friend Eric of Toy Saurus. He and his brother created their own custom glow-in-the-dark action figure of Janine to match with the old Ecto-Glow toyline! I tried to create the drawing in a similar style to the original packaging art. It was pretty fun to work on!

If you’d like to see a review of the finished figure and packaging, the YouTube channel Yes Have Some posted a nice video review!

#SixFanarts

#SixFanarts

These past few weeks I decided to take part in the #SixFanarts meme and ended up filling in 3 templates of characters. It was pretty fun to work on!

1. Leatherhead (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – 2012 series)
2. Estonia (Hetalia)
3. Link (The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker)
4. Erik (Dragon Quest XI)
5. Julian (Animal Crossing)
6. Rimuru (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime)

1. Sailor Venus (Sailor Moon)
2. Lt. Hardin (Zoids Chaotic Century)
3. Gible (Pokémon X/Y)
4. Raymond (Animal Crossing)
5. TOM I (Toonami)
6. Guzma (Pokémon Sun/Moon)

While all the above were requests, the set below were all characters that I wanted to draw for fun!

1. Professor Sycamore (Pokémon X/Y)
2. Princess Sally (Sonic the Hedgehog – Archie Comics series)
3. Benno (Ascendance of a Bookworm)
4. The Master (Manos: The Hands of Fate)
5. Kayin (Battle Arena Toshinden)
6. Splinter (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – 1987 series)

March is over…

March is over…

This past month has been full of a lot of stress due to Covid-19, so I don’t have as much art to share as I would like, plus I’m trying to finish a couple sets before I post them, but I thought I’d post a little something for now.

First off, I updated my Art Improvement Meme collection so I now have samples from 1993 (so long ago!). I just need one more sample from 1996 to fill it in.

Here’s a drawing of Sonic dressed as a Ghostbuster for my friend Eric of Toy Saurus Games!

There’s another illustration project I finished for him, but that’ll be posted a bit later!
