Description: Loyal to Captain Hermann and the Republic, Lieutenant O'Connell is based at Red River. He first meets Van and company when Captain Hermann is investigating an explosion that wiped out their division of sleeper Zoids. Once Van and Irvine escape the base, O'Connell is overpowered by Moonbay who talks him into making a deal. A small bit of tension remains between Moonbay and O'Connell for the rest of the series. But generally he gets along with everyone.

Description: Promoted to Captain, O'Connell now relays important information to the Guardian Force. Many times he uses the Pteras to scout for the enemy. Still loyal to Hermann, who is a Major now, O'Connell's always around to give the latest reports. He also seems to be amused by fireice. Hehe.
